It’s been just over two years since Cathy and James tied the knot in a gorgeous ceremony at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas—and we’re still every bit in love with the stunning details from one incredible event! Jordan orchestrated a truly beautiful setting for the big day fete, complete with custom draped walls and ceilings and an over-the-top floral chandelier that completely stole the show. In celebration of their recent anniversary, we wanted to share some of the truly lovely details—all captured by Thisbe Grace Photography—from their special day.
Florals were an unbelievable highlight when it came to the decor scene—they were beautiful, breathtaking and everywhere. Before guests could even finish taking in the whole view, their eyes were inevitably lifted upward to the grandly draped ceiling inside the Four Seasons ballroom touting an impressively lavish chandelier made of flowers. “Our friend David Kimmel implemented our version of a custom tiered floral chandelier!” says Jordan of the blossoming creation, which featured a bevy of roses closest to the ceiling. “The hanging portion was individually lined dendrobium orchids. Strands and strands!”
Even more florals—a lush mixture of roses, tulips and hydrangeas—created a spectacular flower wall that served as an epic photo op and also the backdrop for the cake table. The white six-tiered confection featured a cascade of delicate fondant, representing the bride’s Oscar de la Renta wedding gown. Guest tables were set with gold and cream jacquard-print linens and set with an array of beautiful floral arrangements with some lavender touches. And the head table stood out with an acrylic tabletop on a blush sequined base. All the chairs were Chameleon-style, covered with custom blush gold chair sleeves for a unique effect. The event’s overall color scheme featured a navy base with creams, whites, blushes and golds expertly combined for a light, bright and absolutely dazzling setting.
The entire evening was divine. Guests enjoyed delicious Four Seasons fare like lemongrass scented lobster bisque with chive creme fraiche and bourbon-glazed beef filet. In addition to the white buttercream-frosted wedding cake, dessert also included the groom’s chocolate truffle cake with salted caramel filling. Though the dinner and dancing were crowd favorites and the cocktails flowed all night, familial roles meant the most to Cathy and James’ during their nuptials. Cathy’s two daughters and James’ daughter were bridesmaids—beautiful in their navy blue frocks—and James’ two teenage sons escorted his bride down the aisle. His grandson also served as ring bearer and James’ two brothers, both ordained ministers, orchestrated the ceremony—one conducting the opening prayer and the other officiating.
Most certainly an evening to remember, we wish James and Cathy the happiest of anniversaries and many more to come!
